Shih Tzu in Performance Events
The Shih Tzu is more than a pretty face. And they are more than just a cuddly companion. The athletic Shih Tzu can be found in many performance events.
Shih Tzu can be found in competition in Agility, Obedience, Rally, Fly Ball, Weight Pull.
There are no special allowances in any of these events for their size, they compete with the same rules as the Border Collies, Poodles and Dobermans.
Shih Tzu can compete either cut down or in full coat.
Training the Shih Tzu involves patience, practice and persistence. Short training periods are better than long practices and always end practice on a positive note.
While not a Performance event, Shih Tzu makes an excellent Therapy dog.
